Danielle and Mike’s Enchanting Art Museum Engagement Session at The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts | Philadelphia, PA

Is there anything more enchanting than an art museum? As a frequent art museum visitor myself, I have dreamed of photos taken amongst the sculptures and art work on the walls. I connected with Danielle when her friend posted on Facebook that she had been looking for a photographer to capture her engagement photos in a Philadelphia art museum. I just knew we’d be the perfect fit!
The Pennsylvania Academy of The Fine Arts, PAFA is one of the few museums in Philly that allow photography (they do require a permit, so please contact them prior if you are planning on capturing photos there!). Their allowance of photography paired with their exquisite staircases, sculpture rooms, and artwork made it an easy choice for location for this Philadelphia engagement. We explored each room throughout the calm and quiet space while it snowed on the city outside. At the end of their session, I convinced Danielle and Mike to pop out for a few photos in the snow, because here on the East Coast it’s so rare to get so lucky with such weather! It’s only ever snowed once before at a wedding I’ve photographed in my nine years photographing weddings and never for a session. I planned a snowy bridal shoot during a snow storm earlier this season for this exact reason, so to have another snow fall this year felt very lucky.
Danielle and Mike are getting married in Portugal, and while they have selected a local photographer there for their wedding day it was such an honor getting to know them and play a part in their love story. I hope these photos serve as the perfect backdrop for their destination wedding day and send them all of the best wishes!
